My favorite part of the show is when I turned it off because it sucked!! This version will not be as extreme as their British counterparts and they will make the American cars look better than they really are, because if they don't, the American manufacturers will bitch and boycott them.

Remember the episode when the brits came to California and picked up a Cadillac XLR-V, a Corvette Z06 and a new Chrysler Challenger? Chrysler found out what they were going to do and decided not to give them one, Richard ended up going out and buying one with his own money for the test.

Which is just utterly pathetic, if you think you have a well designed car it shouldn't be a problem who tests it. I guess dodge didn't want their retrofitted 300c put up against a couple of purpose built vehicles.

In car camera was shaky. Exterior rolling shots were horrible. Standing artistic shots are no BBC but they got the awesome feel across.

It will take the hosts a few more episodes or season to mesh together and stop reading from scripts and teleprompters. The dialogue between them was more banter than anything else

Everything in the show seemed like a cheap imitation of the original, there was no passion.

The Viper runaway segment seemed like a horrible low budget scene with fun tire smoking driving. Stopping in the car wash to discuss the Viper was silly.

I liked the Lambo segment, I was hoping for an epic drive between all three but instead I got top speed runs, with very little emotion. I understand that the other 2 hosts had never gone that fast before and were probably concentrating hard.

Test track had to much stuff to hit, the open feel of the British and Australian track are lost.

I honestly think the Aussie version is alot better, comparing first episodes.

This show has the potential to mature and connect with American Top Gear fans it really depends on what direction they want to go.

i must have gone in with the lowest expectations humanly possible, because i actually quite enjoyed it. its no top gear uk, but its certainly better than top gear aussie, and better then some episodes of fifth gear. theres a crap ton of car review shows out there, and they are by and large horrible, and this is better than probably 85% of them.

not that im making complete excuses for the show, adam ferrara annoyed me greatly, and the butchering of that buzz aldrin interview was god awful. yeah there were some in car camera jitters, but big deal. seeing how violent that superleggera shifted was awesome.

fyi, if you have a ps3, the first episode is a free download on the playstation network

This all kind of reminds me of those people that dissed The Office as a rip off of the British version instead of embracing it as a funny show in its own right.

Episode 2 was quite a bit better than the first one. I think the chemistry with the hosts will develop over the first season. The very end of episode 2 was pretty epic, IMHO.

Still on the border with this one. At this point, the only issue I have is with the hosts. I just don't care for any of them. While Tanner may have car knowledge as well as Rutledge, Ferrara doesn't seem to know anything about cars and his comedian background is still to come into play. If they can't mesh better by the end of the the 10th episode, the show is done.

Adam Corolla would be a good host. And I would love for Leno to do it as well, especially the interviews with the guest driver. A good third host might be a rotating one, like a known race car driver or tv personality.

Either way, its off my DVR but I'll catch up on the episodes online when I have the time.

Can't stand Adam Corolla. He is as lame as Norm McDonald.

I only saw the Evo downhill race vs the two ski guys. It was so fake. They obviously staged the race to get some cool shots of the skiiers racing alongside the evo.

Did not like.
