Different company -> http://www.nsec.net
We were asked (told) to accept this 50% pay cut and that we'd be paid back in full the following month. The following month came around and they laid us all off - fvckers! Did they pay us what they owed us? Hell no.

Thank God I was saving up for a house so didn't have much debt and had a decent savings account.

well..let's see..the advantage of being an old fart [in the valley] is i've seen it all...

1." surplused"...old aerospace talk
2."downsized"
3."rightsized"
4."laid off"..or"let go"..individually and in groups from six to forty-three.
5.while consulting,[in between the above] i came back to collect a check promised for a banzi project that"had to be finished" and the company was gone..totally empty building!
6. well, i have quit a few times....
7 once,only once,in 35 + years of working was i dragged into the vp's office and fired on the spot...that was pretty cool....something about my attitude...it was suggested i return the next week as a consultant[where apparently my talent was more appreciated than my manners...stayed another two years![with more $-no benefits..]

seems things haven't changed much...[oh yeah..there was the time the company was *ahem*" closed "for a week or two after an INS raid on the fiberglass shop.. that was a hoot..and we got paid!]
