The refugee kid, Aria Sabit, mentioned in the article is a good friend of mine.

Sadly, missionaries serve in very dangerous areas worldwide and do selfless work that is largely unrecognized, until a tragic event like this occurs. Condolences to their families and friends.

God bless those 10 and their families. I've met many missionaries. They are the most kind, gentle and humble people you will ever meet.....EVER.

Amazing story about your friend Raj

Wow pretty amazing story. Sounds like a real loss, but it's also clear that Little, his wife, and their church have made a huge difference in the lives of some folks. Good for Dr Sabit for having taken full advantage of everything he could!

I would like to think Sabit too continues to help others in some way, and that the effort carries on.

I would share my opinions on missionaries if this thread were in the politics section. Until then, I'll stay out.

That's tragic. I hope they were very happy with their life and how they lived it.

While whether the net result of their work is good bad or indifferent is arguable, missionaries are generally trying their best to do what they feel is right and serve humanity. Some need to have their enthusiasm tempered or their methods pruned, but all in all, I'm glad people elect to do that type of work. Pushing to do what one feels is right is one of the best desires in humanity, and that desire should be fostered.

At the least, I'm glad your friend and his family are able to enjoy a fulfilling life as a resut of this man's work.
