I'm not saying the original dream team wasn't the best. I'm saying that I had watched enough of those guys back in the days to be able to form my own opinions of them. As for championships, they are won by the whole team, not a single player, regardless of how good one player is.
My opinion still stands in regards to Magic and Bird - that they were way overrated. Jordan, on the other hand, deserved every ounce of it. He could run, jump, shoot, bounce, guard, dunk, slam, etc. He was an all-around great player! Magic and Bird seemed like a couple of slow elephants playing with a quick zebra (Jordan). Again, I had watched enough of those guys back then to be able to form my own opinions regardless of what others say.
Ok, here's an analogy: Bird is to Babe Ruth as Jordan is to Alex Rodriguez.
Sure, Babe could hit, but he was a fat, slow elephant who could barely stand up with his beer belly. Whereas A-Rod is an all-around great player, who can hit, run, jump, catch, throw, etc. That's how I feel and no one can change my mind.

1) You were young and saw them in their later years (late 80's/early 90's) and equate those times as representative of their entire careers. Based on your posts, I'll admit that you're at least old enough to have seen them play.
2) You're just a product of the ESPN generation.
I'll respect your opinions but I think you're misinformed. Also, Barkley was one of the best rebounders of all time (for his size). Arguably the best since Wilt Chamberlain.
That's my opinion

Well the boys captured the gold!!!
Very early this morning around 3:30am CST they defeated Spain. If you were up at this hour watching the game, I think you can agree the game was pretty intense! I haven't been this elated since my Spurs won their last championship in 07'. Anywho it was a great game, GO USA GO!!!

One of or the best international game ever. Went down to the almost wire. Once again my man D-Wade kept us in and Kobe is just being The Black Mamba. How the hell did Spain manage all those damn floaters? I mean wow, but wth!
Spain gave the US everything they could handle and we manage to come out on top. I love the fact that we didn't just steamed roll them like we did in the first game we played them. I felt like that was a game 7 of the finals or a playoffs series. Who would have though that after easily beating them by 37 points that Spain can come out and played us the way they did the second time.
I love one game elimination, because you know no matter what you have to bring it regardless or how great the odd are against you. Much respect for Spain for playing the way they did. Of course,
to the "Redeem Team" for bringing the gold back after receiving so much criticism.
I still think that the international game had caught up with us, but they are a long way back. If those Teams were to play us by NBA rules I think we would literally stomp everyone. However, it's their game and we beat them by their rules so it's even sweeter!!!
