UCF vs Fullsail for animation degree?
I was considering going to Full Sail, However the tuition is what set me back. I ended up with a design degree from a local community college, and I now have a pretty decent job.
Full sail was preaching to me at the time (About 4 years ago) that they would guarantee placement. But I couldn't see myself spending that much cash, I feel like in these sorts of fields its all about what you put into it.
we will be getting a guy from Full Sail in the next month or two at our agency, I'm curious to see what he knows.
If you have the cash man, I'd say go to Full Sail, its specialized and you wont have to go through all those "Prerequisite" courses.
I always wanted to go to Parsons

...wait... i just reread that your a junior at UCF. Do you feel like you are getting what you need out of the program? and will you be competitive after you graduate?
I agree that networking and who you know is essential, but in the creative field that will only get you an interview, or in the door. Its up to you and your portfolio to perform and get you the job. Most agencies, and Im sure animation studios, will take an individual without a degree and an exceptional portfolio over an individual with a degree and a mediocre portfolio
