Final Fantasy 2 was the most challenging of all of them... Remember the battle with the 4 elementals? I had to level up for hours before I could take down those guys.

That's a really good point -- and there was much strategizing to do with which elemental sword/armor to equip. One thing about all the FF games after the Super Nintendo -- there was no more need to spend extra time leveling up for anything. Seems like Squaresoft and all other RPG makers somehow suddenly took pride in the way players didn't have to spend extra time leveling up -- it was actually listed as a cool "feature" at some point. IMO, it really defeats the purpose of "gaining experience" & reduces the psychological intimidation of a lot of the enemies and areas in the game.

Give me a game that makes me die 1000 times, and work to level up to a point where I can see my own actions apart from following the storyline be rewarded.

(Hands SteveUCI the Final Fantasy 1 remake) enjoy

Final Fantasy 10 has some points where i didn't level up enough to be able to do very well in battles...

I remember when I was playing Final Fantasy I, I had to level up for about 15 hours in the "past" before I was able to beat Chaos... damn, I remember, sitting there, sweaty palms and all, and just as I was about to cast my final NUKE on him, he cured himself >_< damned hard boss fight that.

Wha?? There's a remake? I just searched around Google and Ebay, didn't find anything like this.... got a link?

I remember heating up the garage from my stress in getting through the Earth Cave to fight the Lich... I remember my mom coming out there and I gave her one look that said "this is a life or death situation, please leave" hehe...

There is an American version of the remake coming in spring as far as I know. It will have the american FFI and japanese FFII (translated to English) on it. From what I remember, it'll be about june-ish, maybe july... I will desperately search for a link for you

EDIT: I was wrong! They will be released in APRIL! Jump for joy, Steve

(and yes, I remember the element caves... hehehe I especially hated that space/sky fortress in FFI.... took me at LEAST a week to pass that... I love all them old games )

Also, at the top of the preview, click the tab that says "movies" you can watch 4 movies from FF:Origins ^_^

Final Fantasy Tactics was an awesome game for pure battle strategy - I remember losing battles quite often in that game - good challenge is everything.

I love X, because it took it to a whole new dimension. Spoken dialog 10x more in depth and graphically beautiful. But i also love exploring beyond the story line. So FF6 and FF7 is awesome. But that's my judgement. But ask me why I'm pissed. Cause i've heard of no attempt to bring XI to america but instead we're getting X-2 which looks good and is a first: a real sequel to a final fantasy game. oh well maybe i'm uninformed.
