I just read this in the current edition of the _National Speed Sport News_:

Persons who have 4 or more seats to this year's USGP will be given a chance to
take a paced lap, in you car, around the circuit on August 18th

I called the speedway to confirm this. You may have passengers. You will
find a coupon in you tickets when you receive them.

So damn cool.

Sometimes I wish I didn't know things like this. 3500 miles round trip for the chance to drive on an F1 circuit...

Cool, I have four tickets. Looks like I'll be taking a lap of the circurt. Now if I can only get a grid girl to take a ride with me.

Good find ElTianti

If you don't get video and post it here, your life will have been a complete failure.

oops, I just re-read the post and called the speedway. August 18th is not the race weekend. The race weekend is the end of September.

From 1-5PM on August 18th is when ticket holders will be able to take the laps.

Guess I won't be able to make it after all.

Do we know yet if it's just one lap or several?

Thanks,
Mike

I do know that the laps will be paced, it is not a track day. I can only
imagine the speed I might reach by turn one (indy turn 4) were I allowed.

Just spoke to the ticket office, and it is only one lap. There may be other activities also, but the rep I spoke with didn't have any specifics.
