I'm always afraid that the a'hole tailgating me will rear end me once the light turns yellow and I stop.

I don't think you are looking at the other side of the coin. I am not for red light runners, and was T-boned by one when I was 16 and ejected out of an open sunroof.
Nobody is for red light runners it's just that when they install the red light cameras they decrease the yellow time and increase the time when you have a red light all 4 ways. This gives them a bigger paycheck without increasing red light accidents, that is unless you count all those pesky rear end accidents it causes.

Shhh, let's not talk about them!

This is one of those PC issues that you can't win on. You aren't PC if you say you aren't for red light cameras or photo radar because as long as you aren't doing anything wrong you don't have to worry.

The whole point of the yellow light is so you have time to slow down before the red. Yellow dosnt mean bust a move and drop it to 2nd so you dont have to wait. People who blow through yellow lights most likely speed everywhere elce, in which case they deserve a ticket.

Also when approaching a green light from a distance its always smart to assume your not going to catch it, so you should plan to stop. If your doing 80 to catch up to the light before it turns from green, you also deserve the ticket. Anyone who obeys the laws of the road and has some common sence while driving shouldnt be affected by it.

It's not a matter of Political Correctness at all. The line between those who are "PC" and not, lies in the details of why these things are wrong.

If you sit there and foam at the mouth about the constitutionality of revenue enhancements from speed and red-light ticketing, that's one thing. If you note that in many cases, the camera technicians/operators are not present at the hearing (you got a hearing, right? No? Hmmm. . . ) which is a violation of your civil rights in cross-examining your accuser, that's another thing. . .

Hmm can anyone develop a Google Maps app that plots out the locations of red light cameras for my G1 phone when it gets here?
