Don't drink the water. stick to bottled water. Ice is supposedly ok though. Try not to even let it get in your mouth or eyes in the shower. Montezuma will reign fire down upon your ass.. ask how I know (no I didn't even drink the water)

I've been to Ambiance Villas. It's not too bad, especially for a bigger group. You get a good sized space that is clean, plus a kitchen with fridge keeps beer cold There's a market right down and across the street where you can buy beer/water/snacks. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Plaza Dady'O where lots of the clubs and action is. The food there was mediocre, the beach in front is nice.

I don't do all inclusive because I hate the food and to me it's much more fun to explore the area instead of sticking to your resort.

Cancun has its own water treatment facility. The water there is okay to drink. I've been there twice and never had any problems.
If you go anywhere outside of Cancun, then you're in for some Diahrrea.
On the other hand, if an establishment has bottled water, take it. Best not to take a chance.

For all intents and purposes, Cancun is not Mexico. It is a tourist attraction that happens to exist geographically inside of Mexico. There is nothing "Mexican" about Cancun. You will run into maybe seven people that DON'T speak English.

You WILL have fun though. There something about it. No matter what it is you do, you'll have fun doing it.

Most of the people in my group more or less wanted to go to a "touristy" beach with all the associated activities. I actually wanted to head to Puerto Vallarta... I've done Nassau, Miami, LA, and Hawaii. So I've seen enough of the pure "beach" scene and all the touristy type of stuff. But eh gotta make the group happy.... plus Cancun was on sale and personally had never been so didn't really mind at all.....

But I do love to snorkel and jet ski.

well the hotel i booked at had like 4 other hotels in their company. each hotel had different food. you can also ride their bus for free to get to the other hotels. also the program offered a couple of free trips and some more free trips if you listen to crap about timeshare.

I got a hell of a deal once. Our hotel was overbooked, so they bussed us down the street to a similar hotel. We now got free drinks and meals at BOTH hotels because of the all-inclusive deal. It was nice.
