Vancouver
10pm on a Friday. The airport is in Richmond, which is largely populated by Hong Kong residents. Lots of late night restaurants, hot pot, bubble tea, karaoke and lounges within 10 minutes of YVR. Hit up Alexandria St. if you want a bite and a beer as there are a lot of restaurants to choose from there. You'll also be about 15 minutes out of downtown.
If you're into natural sites, check out Stanley Park (downtown), Cypress Bowl (excellent local ski slope 20 min. from DT and great view) and Whistler to start. Victoria is a 1.5hr ferry ride from the terminal (15 min. from DT in W. Vancouver) but there are a lot of parks, museums, shops, old Gov't buildings and such to see.
Granville Island is just a bridge crossing away from downtown (Burrard Bridge) or you can park near the beach and take a short boat ride across English Bay. At the other end of the bridge, you'll also see the Molson brewing factory which offers tours and the Planetarium, where you can smoke a joint and catch a Pink Floyd show (if you're into that
). Hey, it's BC, what do you want me to say?
If you're into ethnic cuisine, there's no shortage of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Mongolian, Filipino, French, Vietnamese, Ukranian etc. etc. places to go eat - all authentic.
Where are you staying? Do you have family or friends here?
Hit me up if you have any questions or need directions.

Downtown would be best as it's pretty central to most attractions. You want bling bling or Holiday Inn?
Public transportation around here includes the Skytrain, Seabus and buses.

Pretty reliable if you don't want the expense of taking a cab everywhere.
It's just another city.
Just a bit smaller, quieter, friendly and scenic than some others.
Any more questions, just ask. Have a good time, eh.
