if you have witnesses that may hold up to vandalism and depending on what kind of damage he did you could get some change for it. either way say its causing you stress issues (for obvious reasons) and you can get all kinds of legal crap on him. if hes dumb enought o keep pursuing you thinking nothings going to happen, he'll learn his lesson eventually.

if its revenge your out for then its cool, id probably wait a bit (year or so) and then get him back. that way theres really no attachment from him to you anymore and you still have your satisfaction for that little a-hole messing with your car first. make sure you get friends that are real close though, and dont tell your EX. whatever you do keep safe man

I've gotta disagree with the revenge thing... that's how you land yourself in jail. It's very immature and the judge will tell you the same. Just contact the police and let them handle it.

Revenge will feel good at the time, but rest assured it's going to bite you in the ass.

depends on what kind of revenge it is. physical or damage to his car/property. up to the person in the situation- to me it would be worth it if i knew i had a good chance to get away with it. ive gotten away with other things like that before but its not to say that i'll never get caught- i was just lucky and was careful about what i did. its not like running down the street screaming and waving lights around while bashing his car up or something. its more like careful planning do what you need quick and gtfo. ture it could catch up to me one day, i'll deal with it then. its not like i did it not knowing what may happen one day in return.

my situation: one day after high school while i was a senior i was in my car (98 civic) with my GF and sister, went to pick my brother up at his middle school some dudes (asian gang members) pulled up behind me and then all four of them came out. one of them had a bat. i drove off they followed me- not thinking clearly (because there was traffic) i turned into a street turned out to be a dead end. they blocked the street with there car, jumped be and bashed the crap of my car. even tried to throw this huge rock at me, luckily it hit my door pilar rather than me. happened too quick for me to react- i was never into the gang stuff so i wasnt used to this kind of crap. well, after all was said and done the police didnt do anything- not enough evidence. cant blame them it goes by the book. needless to say i ended up giving them a bit of the grief they gave me. whatever- i got my satisfaction and i moved on

sounds stupid now but im still glad i did it, cant just walk away from something knowing they jumped me for no reason- they thought i was someone else. they never fessed up and took punishment so whatever i did what i could to give them what i felt they deserved even less of which i would have loved to do. but remember my POV is from being the victim.

You cannot protect your property with lethal force in Texas, nor in any state.

If someone enters your house you have the right to protect yourself not your property. Most concealed gun courses cover this kind of stuff and they will tell you that you can still go to court even if you shoot someone out of self defense, but that it's not likely you will be prosecuted. Good example, if someone breaks into your house and then steps outside with your property, you do not have any legal right to shoot that person as it is not self defense. There was a case in a local town where a guy shot someone running away from his store and he got 10 years because the assailant was already out of the store (mind you he had the guys property in his hand). You have to be able to prove you were truly feeling threatened for your life prior to shooting the intruder. Anyway, that's enough about this, there are so many ifs ands and buts about this topic...
