I was a 32" waist at 25 and up until I started grad school a few years ago. I got up to a 34" waist and 184lb. Today I'm back to 168 and am shooting for 160 even. I'm currently at 6'1" with 33" waist. I work out pretty much every weekday and cycle (road or mountain bike) after work. The biggest thing that helped me cut weight is managing my diet better and upping the cardio. I've gotten to where I eat for the level of activity that I expect. Lower activity = Lower carbohydrates and I'm using fruit instead of junk for sweet tooth type cravings.

34, 5'6", 160 pounds, 30 inch, was 29 inch at 25. But it is coming off baby!!!!!! Gonna lose two pounds of chubble!!! I eat like a giant swamp sow lift at the gym and have always had a high metabolism.

I just discovered the fun, dorky, nerdy workout secret. Dance Dance Revolution! Fun, addicting, makes you sweat your butt off, but pull the shades so the neighbors don't see you. My computer nerd brother got me addicted to it. He was packing it on and started playing an hour in the morning before work and has dumped 25 pounds in three months but has fun doing it.

Luckily, I am single so there is no one but the dog to see how stupid I look playing the game. My girlfriend tried it once and she wants a playstation now.

Went from a 30" to a 38" from 20yrs to 28yrs. When I hit 28yrs I decided enough was enough and I am currently at 33" and getting smaller by the month. Diet was my main change. Not so much in the exercise but eating to the amount of physical activities I was doing helped a lot.

Man,

You guys kill me! 6'1, 160 pounds. Someone would check me into a hospital if I was that thin!

At 25, I weighed about 175#, had about 15% bodyfat and was aerobically fitter than about anyone I knew. Triathalon fit. At 30, I met my now ex-GF. I went from a 34" waist with the classic muscular "V" shape, to a 44" waist and 260# in 5 years. The difference was partially metabolism, partially stress, partially poor diet, but mostly the sedentary lifestyle change that happens when you play daddy.

We broke up in April and I decided to change the lifestyle and diet. I'm now at 239# 7 weeks later, and have dropped about 5" off my waist. I hope to get back to 200 or 190 and a 34-36" waist as that was where I was most comfortable with my body.

I suspect from what I am hearing from many here, that your bodies are extomorph shaped, and you are not carrying significant musculature anyway. I have the typical mesomorph shape, but it is ruthless to try to maintain it as you age.

Well, at 25 I had next to zero body fat, with a 32" waist..

at 32 I had a 36" waist @ 201lbs.

Worked out for 1 year, now I'm 33, have about a 34-35" waist, and weight ~182 lbs.

I'm 5'10 btw.

ideugene,

You can measure your body fat with a Tanita body fat scale or by the old caliper method. You can get a Tanita scale at most GNC's and places that sale fitness type equipment. You can get your body fat assesed with calipers at your local gym.
