Yes, that is the air pump.
If I remember correctly, the air pump is on for only the first 60 seconds after start-up and its warms up the cat faster by sending air into the exhaust ports to burn certain particles in the exhaust which would, in turn, increase gas temperatures.
you are right, the air pump is only being used the first 60 seconds when you start the car. but the air pump looks ok to me.. you might wanna look into the wires see if it got demaged from the accident

by the way, if you wanna sell the demaged Amuse exhaust really cheap... I am kinda interested in it.. However, I do believe titanium is not bentable nor fixable. it might only be able to weld the place it cracks... so, let me know if your right hand side exhaust is still good. of course, only if it is still good and you are willing to sell it for a little of money.. cuz I am located in Taiwan, shipping will run like hell..

or maybe you could cut the pipe just right before the spot that pipe splites into 2 and weld an adaptor onto it then I will make the rest my own?

Update on Progress
all the body work is being done now. my assumption is they started stripping the pain, fixing the dents, and aligned all the parts. hopefully it hits paint by friday.

im going tommorrow to pick up the wrecked parts. ill be selling what i can salvage. ill also take some more pictures and let everyone else know what is up with her. its been 3 weeks without the s2000, im going insane. their still looking for a used hardtop for me thats ok though, i have a few more months of the top down before ill want to put the HT on.

Est. date of return: August 26th.

I have my fingers crossed for you on that August 26th return date. I know what it's like being without the s2k for a couple of weeks. You really do have withdrawals.

ill probably never see him again. but if i do, nothing will be done face to face. ill get his tag number, and if im in a shitty mood ill follow him to his crib and get his car late at night . but what goes around comes around, so i'll probably just leave him alone and let the circle take its place on him.
