Walmart Wants $10 CD's
Personally, I'm glad Walmart is carrying the flag. I've never understood why CD's cost so much. Think about this. A DVD can be bought for less than $20 yet the cost of producing it was tens of millions. AND it has a very expensive sound track. So why do music CD's have to cost almost as much?
Oh, and I'm surprised that some people are still STEALING music.

While it may be great for the consumer, especially in regards to CD's since they have been sticking it to us for years, I seriouly have a problem with the way walmart treats its supplier base, and for the most part brings hard working suppliers to thier knees..
Companies make 2% margins, lose lucrative contracts, and become slaves to walmart.
and thats just the supplier base, I won't even go into the smaller local businesses they dessimate every year.
If the local shop has CD's for a couple bucks more, and I know its keeping them afloat, they'll get my money.

I agree with you mindcore..... i worked at true temper hardware (we manufactured garden tools).... we had to pay $20k for a half an hour of their purchasing departments time to show them our shit.... we had about 4 pallets shipped to Arkansas.... the sales guy smoked through it then had to leave it there for them to keep...... supposedly they were going to give it to a charity, but that is probably bullshit...
anyway.... if we didn't pay the $20k for the half an hour, they wouldn't buy from you that year..... pretty lame.... supposedly it was to cover the cost of a handfull of purchasing big guys to be there to see the presentations...... blaaaa

theres people out there who still pay for music?

$10 is still too expensive for music that i most likely will listen to no more than once or twice. if artists start making music that is worth listening to over and over, then i'll be more enticed to spend money on music. otherwise, i'm gonna continue to download music for free, listen to them once or twice, and never even remotely touch them again.
