Went to a stupid basketball game many years ago, Kareem(sp) Jabber was there only reason I went was to ask him what it was like to train with Bruce. He said if you held the body bag and Bruce kicked it full force you had a headache for a few days after. He said Bruce would swing a 200lb bag and stop it with one kick, that's the same as knocking a 400 lb man on his a$$. This from a guy that only weighed 135 lbs. His one inch punch was legendary.
Bruce was and still is The Man.

I wouldn't fight for a 100k, but I'd pay a G to watch someone else get their ass whipped.
Bruce Lee was THE man period. He was a pioneer and innovator, and possibly the greatest martial artist alive...ever. The amount of power he could generate out of his 140lb frame was nothing short of incredible, and along with his blinding speed, would make him near invincible in a no-rules fight. Bruce's 1inch punch knocked Hayward Nishioka (All American and Japan Judo champion) off his feet and slammed him into the wall, and he weighs 250lbs! Bruce has also been known to dislocate ppl's shoulders who had the unlucky task of holding the focus mitts for him. On one occasion he broke someone's arm who was holding the heavy bag for him to kick. Freak'ish power for a man of any size.
As for this Tommy Carruthers, he sounds like a trumpet blowing nobody. Offers to turn professional in boxing, and not taking it cos its not JKD? BS...boxing is where the money is in fightsport, or even if you're just a martial arts enthusiast/practitioner I believe you would take up the challenge if only to test yourself.

if you had 10 dudes wanting to kick your ass, a piece is more likely to end the fight in your favor that just your fists.
By the way I'm not against guns in fact I have a huge collection which is hard to do here in the Republik Of Kalifornia . But one of the things I hated about turning 18 which for me is a long time ago is that any fight you get into now becomes more serious when the PoPo is called no more slap on the wrist like before you turned 18.
Fact remains Bruce is the Man !
The world is full of Bruce Lee wannabe's. The bottom line is there can be only 1.
Speed was only part of Bruce Lee's repertoire, so too the deceptive power.
But if you think that by just emulating those 2 skills you're halfway to becoming the man, you are sadly mistaken, for one of Bruce Lee's greatest attributes...... was his personality.
Bruce Lee...
incomparable in my opinion.

I think you're referring to Jeet Kune Do, right? Jujitsu was about the only thing he was lacking.

Well, the guy was only 135-140 lbs yet he packed some serious power, besides his lightning speed.
Officer_Down: Jiujitsu is an ancient art created long before Bruce Lee was even born. It was the bare-hand combat that the Samurai used when disarmed.
He did incorporate Judo/Jujitsu techniques as part of his arsenal though, maybe thats where you got mixed up. The art he 'created' is known as JKD or Jeet Kune Do, and is actually more of a concept than a proper martial art. Bruce Lee didnt even want to name it originally, as he knew people would fuss over it.
As for his son dying at the same age, legend has it that a curse was put on his family (and himself) in that for the next 3 generations the male members of the family would all die at the height of their fame. It apparently had something to do with Bruce (his chinese nickname meaning little dragon) moving into an area or street where the 'nine dragons' resided or something, which made them displeased them.
Anyway its just chinese mythical stuff, but its interesting nonetheless...and no i dont believe in it.
