keep in mind the only flaw to Hitler taking over the world, was that he tried to invade Russia.
Complete and utter

The Nazis were kicking the Russian asses all over, and only an inch away from capturing Stalingrad, thus topping the entire Russian empire. The only force that stood in the way of the Nazis was the Americans. If it weren't for the Americans, the Russians would've fallen over like a coked up 2-dollar whore. The Nazis had to retreat from Russia because the Allies were pounding them on the western fronts and back home.

The movie Enemy at the Gates was based on real historical events taken place in Stalingrad.

Not to me.

NATO stays very much relevant even though its focus has shifted.

The war in Afghanistan is a NATO mission for example. NATO also provides a framework, not unlike the EU, that potential nations must take up to obtain membership (Romania and Bulgaria joined this way). This encourages applicants to make necessary reforms.

The difference in Georgia a la 2004 and 2008 is a good example. The country has come a very long way and NATO is a big reason.

Why Ron Paul is not the lead candidate for president is a mystery to me.
Because all you dickweeds didn't vote for him. He dropped out so fast from the lack of votes it was a sad sight.

I totally expected to come in here and see somebody asking why we weren't bombing Russia if they are attacking the U.S. (Georgia).

So, like, will this invasion of Georgia reduce the amount of peaches produced in the United States? I just remember farm collectives not being very effective with producing maximum quantities.

This is mostly right, the Americans really did the hard work and pressed the western front hard enough to crush Germany. As for the Russians, they just took awhile to get their sh1t together. They had huge resources, but bad decision making early in the war. Stalingrad was definately a turning point, but during the Stalingrad conflict, the Russians were already starting to drive the Germans back. Enemy at the Gates is a great movie....people tend to forget that over 50 million Russians died as as result of the war.

There are a lot of concerned rednecks in America today - they want to make sure there will still be Nascar races even though Russia is invading.

Amazing. All this discussion started by a spammer.

The way I see it, the whole Georgia/Russia thing is not our problem.
