Weathertripping replacement on my Prelude
I just washed my Prelude and noticed that the weather stripping on the driver's side window is tearing. Does anyone know of a place to get it replaced, or if this is something I can do by myself.
I think Luder94 has the same type of Prelude that I have. Have you had any of these problems???

I am having hte same problems now. I have to take a look at it to see if it's doable by myself.
There is "weather stripping" that is in the interior portion of the door jamb that's easily replace. You can just pull that out and replace it with some bought from Honda (but I doubt highly that's the stripping that's worn out for you).
The stripping that's worn out for me is on the outside door edges by the window and the upper corners of the door/window frame. I will look into it and attempt it myself and will report back.

Luder,
The weatherstripping that's wearing out for me is not the one inside the window. It's actually located on the outside, right next to the mirror. It's probably the same place that yours is going bad.
I'll let you know how I resolve this. Sorry to hear that you're also having the same problems.

Hey Luder,
I just got back from a bodyhop and they looked at the weatherstripping. Turns out that it wasn't tearing after all, but was just coming out. The guy just popped it right back in, no charge!!!
Looking at the weatherstripping, I think it's not that hard to replace it. Looked pretty simple. Just have to roll the window down and pull on it to get it out. To put it back in, just press real hard into the grooves.
You might want to see if you can do this.

Mark,
I wish I had read this before I did what I did in the morning. I went ahead and pulled it all out just to see how it was pressured in. What do you know, but I couldn't get it back in with the stripping completely seated.
Once I get home from work today, I will try to get it back in properly....damn, why am I so curious.

Luder,
Just some helpful hints when you put it back in. You might want to have the window up partially as you put it in. When I was watching the guy do it, he kept rolling the indwo up and down. Probably was making sure it was aligned right too.
Good luck.
