How to re-attach window weather stripping?
This is on a '91 Prelude. Basically, it's come to the point that every time I roll down my passenger window the weather stripping at the top and the rear corner stays attached to the window and the window just pulls it off the door frame as it rolls down. So, everytime I roll down the window I have to have the person "HOLD" the weather stripping in place while rolling the window down. My question is what type of adhesive (of if there is something else) to use to "glue" the stripping back to the door permanently (maybe not permanently, but at least so it will hold when the window is rolled down). Any help would be appreciated. TIA..
Clear Silicone seal will work well. It is pliable (unlike superglue) and can eventually be detached. If you want a more permanent solution, go with contact cement. This is a bit more complicated as you need to put it on both surfaces, let it get tacky (a few minutes) before you put the two parts together. In either case, you will need to hold it in place (like with the window closed) and not disturb it till it sets. This will be much longer with the Silicone.
xviper, is clear silicone good at adhearing plastic (or whatever the weatherstripping is made out of) to painted metal (ie, the door)? I've learned that everything "sticky" doesn't always work on all combinations of compounds. Just wondering...
And thanks for the feedback.

I've used clear silicone to do exactly what you are planning to do. Just clean the painted surface well with alcohol and clean off any grease that might be on the rubber seal. Press and hold together till it sets. Silicone seal takes about an hour to get tacky but needs about 24 hours to cure.
