Hey all,

My wife's family has been operating a retail store for 10+ years, but hasn't ventured into ecommerce yet. My wife and I are opening up a store in 90-120 days (currently being built) and I'd like to expand our operation into the web.

Have any of you done this before? If so... I have a few questions for you.

1) How did you integrate your retail database along with your web store database?

2) Who are you hosting your site through and are you paying a transaction cost?

3) Lastly, how much are you paying to host your site?

I'm currently waiting to be contacted by a few service providers (UniteU, BAC, and Retail Dimensions) who would take care of a lot of the detail work, but it sounds like this route might be a bit costly.
