Weird NT/Win2K behavior
It looks as if I have to reformat my HD every 4-6 months or so. For some reason the freakin' OS slows the way down (no additional software installed since the first day - ghost image). It doesn't matter if you do degrag and shtuff, it just slows down for no good reason.

I really don't see how any frequently used Windows machine can survive 1 year without reformatting and reinstalling.
Maybe some people mastered the art of ignoring problems.

I had an install of NT that ran for 13 months, still dunno how I did it either. I typically do a reinstall once a quarter - just little time to do that these days - so I'm just hurting while the hdd crunches along - and dont tell me my U2W is slow either!
It's a bit different environment, but we have NT Servers that were installed three, four years ago.
What sort of system is this? I mean, what is it used for? I reinstall my workstation every year or so, but I put a ton of software on it over its lifetime. The system at home gets it more often, but it gets even more junk - weird codecs, real player, weatherbug, all that sort of crapola that just bogs everything down.
Have you checked your temp directory? But then, this isn't nearly as much of a problem for NT as it was for 95 and 3.11.
