Once I went to a hyundai dealership (don't judge, just checking it out) and I had some 50+ yr old Russian sales who seemed awkward from the beginning, but didn't pay too much attention.

Anyway after the test drive, I was interested in how desperate they were to sell and sat down negotiate. I told him a price I was willing to pay, I wasn't going to agree to it, and it was a low ball offer, but it was reasonable. Not much profit margin, but they would still make VERY little profit.

He proceeds to tell me that do you play games with other dealerships like this? I told him no, you asked me what I want to pay and I told you. Now check with the sales manager. He said that the sales manager wouldn't except it (in a condescending tone) and I told him okay, you have a nice day.

A few seconds later while I'm walking to my car the manager starts running to the door and calling me to come back. He came up to me and tried to sweet talk me to go back in, but I told him there are too many dealerships around for you to have salesmen treat customers in a manner less than professional.

While driving away I could see the manager and that dude talking through the glass. Don't know what he actually told him, but it didn't look like he was happy.
