I can't tell the difference 99% of the time, so it's Kikkoman, Lee Kum Kee, Golden Mountain, or whatever happens to be available at the store.

Ugh. Kikkoman sucks. Pretty much any brand is better.

I bought a big bottle (says 562 ml, I think...) of Mushroom Soy Sauce for $1.49 at a local Asian market and it is incredible. I'd tell you the brand but I can't read Chinese.
That sounds just like the Rooster Brand stuff that I bought. It's tasty!
Compared to the last couple of kinds I bought, this stuff is thicker. Dark and Rich, kinda like runny molasses

Are you sure it's soy sauce and not paste? I don't know if it's actually called soy paste in English, but there's another kind of soy condiment that looks just like soy sauce and has the same basic flavor, but it's thicker and a little darker.

No, it's definately Soy Sauce, it's just not as runny as Kikkoman's, and it's more black, as opposed to dark brown.

Could be... it's definately stronger that any other I've had. Maybe I'll post a pic of the bottle when I get home, and someone who can read the language (guessing Chinese, but not too sure) can fill me in.

It's really good mixed with that paste wasabi with sushi.

Now I'm making myself hungry...
