what is the diff. between math and science?
I've always thought of math more as a philosophy (and thus an art, but not a religion; that implies something spiritual). You have to accept certain unprovable assumptions before the system becomes useful.
I think of the two in these terms.
Science is simply the study of something, in which you use the scientific method. You often use math during the steps of the method.
Math I always thought of as being a way for humans to describe things in a precise manner. Almost like a language, you use inches and feet to describe a certain segment of something. The inch it self has nothing to do with math, but using math we can describe the world around that inch. For example, that inch may be the radius of a circle or the side of a triangle.
