Thumbs up What to do with this?

So I just bought a house and the previous owner left a satellite disk (probably DirectTV or something) on the roof. Is it worth anything? What should I do with it? I don't like paying $50 or more for TV service, so I'm looking to sell it or something. Is it of any value? It looks very new, probably less than 2 years old, since the house is less than 2 years old.

Keep it. If you do enough research, you can actually put it to use and get many free channels.

Research, huh? Thanks!

If I were to sell this on Craigslist, how much would I get?

You wont get anything for it. Dish is no good without receiver... and chances are if someone has a receiver, it came with a dish. They are essentially disposable these days. I used to be in the home audio/video industry and I have 9 or 10 of them sitting in my garage. I'll throw them away when I get around to it.

Agreed. The dish is essentially useless. I just moved about 2 mths ago and DirecTV told me to just leave the dish at the old house. They built me a new one for the new house and as far as im aware, just left the old for the future owners to deal with...much like your current situation.
