I 2nd that advice on not buying anything from the Notre Dame area. I paid 20 euro for a mug of beer there.

They have these bike stands that rent out bikes with a swipe of a credit card. I'd recommend riding throughout Paris on one. I had an amazing time squeezing through traffic and pedestrians. The architecture all throughout the city is beautiful.
