CPO: not a bad way to go for a car, kind of a creepy way to go for a real doll.

Gotta love Honda...

Here's the gist on certified used. Like SheDrivesIt stated, it's all about when you get the car in relation to when it was originally titled.

Here's what they cover:

Powertrain

Non-powertrain

Take a close look at "Within New Car Warranty" versus "Expired New Car Warranty." Lots of differences, huh? Also, ask any owner about "normal wear and tear."

if it's under the basic warranty still, you're in really good shape and can buy extended warranties for muuuuch less than if the basic warranty is done.

Good luck getting an extended warranty that is easily and quickly applied to repairs.

I got mine CPO.

Honda has the CPO guide on their site that also shows what was checked. You can request the check list from the dealer to see that they have actually done what Honda said to do.

I've had no issues with my car (minus the top latch breaking, but it was fixed under warranty). The non-powertrain warranty was only 1 yr, 12k and has already expired, but the powertrain warranty is still good till 100k.

You get a booklet that lets you know what is covered so that there are no gray areas.

I just bought a CPO honda on Saturday.

If it's under 40k miles, they'll reinstate the original 5 year / 60,000 (mine is 70,000?) mile warranty. I guess this is what you mean by "extended warranty" cracker?

In any event, it was an extra $23/month, so I said fuggit and got it. If I don't use it, Honda will refund all my money I paid towards it. On top of that, it lowered my interest rate by .5%. I'll take it.

I work at honda and I would recommend buying your honda from a Honda dealer as it will come with the Honda care warranty automatically. This has come in handy for my customers and for certain repairs its is MUCH easier to get the repairs done right and quickly vs aftermarket warranties.
