Nice looking house. I would defnitely go for it if everything checks out with the home inspection. Some of the best advice I can give to the kids out there (just kidding, I'm 28) is to buy real estate as soon as you comfortably can. My wife and I will have owned our place for 2 years this summer and stand to make a killing from the appreciation (+ equity and tax write-offs).

By the way, jmc, a place like that goes for $550-700K in North Arlington, VA depending upon the neighborhood. Real estate has gone absolutely nuts here.

^^ Wow. Half a million for that place in N. Arlington?! I shouldn't be surprised. I was looking at listings for Lakewood, CO and found a cute place with 419 sq. ft. for 107K. That's beyond tiny. Guess it's true...location, location, location!

Thanks, bjohnston.

Edit: Sorry to go off-topic...

I think it's pretty sweet! Nice that it's made out of brick - that helps keep insurance costs down (huff and puff on this...) You could put a hot tub on that deck and fill it with naked party freaks.....kegerator over here....beer pong table there....yeah, I definetly see this happening!

It does look like someone's grandma lives there now. Gotta get rid of all the lacy frou-frou crap, but from the information given here, I'd take 'er in a second!

That house looks great . Being able to buy a house right out of college must be a great feeling.

Don't tell these people how much this house costs! The people in Cali would probably drop dead.
