So I'm watching the USGP this weekend at the track instead of the usual Speed TV affair. I have to admit seeing a bunch of people enjoying the comforts of air conditioning and catered food in glass boxes makes me jealous.

So what does it take to be invited into one of those boxes?

On the secondary market the tickets are about $1,000 a piece for large events.

Most of those boxes are corporate owned, so get to know people who can snag them at the office too.

Bingo ! Wife has friends that get me in there. Plus I'm so damn anti-social I hate being close to the masses. It's better to keep me away.

The great unwashed sure looked hot out there. Even those in the grandstands that had some covering sure looked hot.

Back home in SoCal my sons wanted to attend a Angel baseball game and once again the wife set us up in a suite. From where we parked the car to our seats was less than 75 yards. A/C comfort, we had a staff of 2 taking care of food and drinks. Couldn't imagine doing it any other way (I hate any sport other than F1 or MotoGP but the boys wanted to go since they play Little League). Even with the perks that is a boring event. They need girls in bikinis walking around or something.

My motto is max comfort, low effort or I ain't going.

Verizon owns a few boxes at large stadiums so i have access to the suites. I usually go to the Richmond Nascar or the Redskins games, since they are closer, but i can go to the ravens as well. The tickets are reserved for Corporate clients, no specifics but generally they have to be people we deal with.. just to let them feel like we care about them...

great perks for me.
