Default why do rich people want to keep making money

im sure to get flames from people calling me socialist, but it makes me sick that 95% of the wealth in the country is held by 5% of the people.

can someone explain in a logical manner why do rich people want to keep making more money for themselves? im sure there are some that give lots of it away, but not the majority. is it a fix, something to feel high on? is it competition with other rich people? imo, it's so easy to make money when you have money that it shouldn't even be considered an accomplishment.

I'm not going to call you a socialist lol, but this is pretty much the reason Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto.

Most successful people are competitive by nature and want to keep improving. There is no limit to what one can make in a capitalist market, and those of us who are LMC, Middle Class, or UMC, wonder why those people just want to keep making money. The question is, Would you stop? Would you just quit after a certain point? We're bred into this capitalist society to make the most of ourselves. Are you making the most of yourself by stopping?

I already know that if I were extremely wealthy, I would want at least some sort of income(that didn't have to be huge) just for financial security...

its simple.

if you are a hardworking rich person that has invested a lot of time in obtaining a skill/education, why would you stop working at your peak?

if you have inherited your wealth or are old money, and great grand pappy was smart and set up a really nice trust...
you simply cant spend it fast enough.

also, yes competition drives folks. exclusivity and other emotions drive folks to differentiate themselves.

i think its funny that you think money is easy to come by, and thats exactly what ultra wealthy people want you to think, but let me guess, u still have a job and answer to somebody...

the job of a governement is to keep the poor happy enough to not revolt against the rich.

i am not saying socialism is bad, but it does stymy progress. but then again, i could get used to a 35 hour work week. JK liberty fries ftmfw

"the most" is a mentally sick idea. it is also what makes society function.

i think if you were "smart" about life, you would stop making money as after a certain amount, it really doesn't make much of a difference in your life. however, it could make a HUGE difference in other peoples'. i'd propose to have a wealth cap set at a few million. i'd imagine a world where people were still free to get rich, but at a certain point, they would either have to donate it to benefit society or give it up in taxes. it would take the energy that rich people put into showing off and redirect it to see who can make the best use of their forced donation. people can still work, but they would be grand philanthropists instead of greedy bastards.

but that's just what i think. question is, do u think there is any reasonable reason for a person to have uber-millions of dollars?

Please cap professional athletes and movie / music stars first.

Sometimes rich people make money as a consequence of their work. By being good at their work, they make more money... the incentive is to be good at their job, not to make more money.

I love how people are all about taxes and caps... that only benefit themselves. I'd bet dyhppy would be the first one to complain about a progressive tax that limited his ability to buy that 2nd car he's wanting....

C'mon man. Give it up. With all the time you spend scheming on how to bilk the rich of their wealth, you could be rich yourself by now....

95% of the taxes are paid by the top 5% wage earners.

Who the hell doesn't want to make more money?
