just ask him "Is this a scam?"

 

Does he have a nigerian accent? Thats usually a bad sign

 

havent talked to him yet over the phone. He just recently asked me for my contact number to formally start this transaction. He is a guest on this site though and just opened it this month on June 11 and has not written any posts. But if it is a scam, Im sure the worse that would happen is the cashiers check be fake, but I was gonna get it checked out anyways and call the number on it to make sure its good before I would send off the car.

 

what will you do when a nigerian answers the phone at the bank to confirm the check is good...?


there are lots of good people in the world and lots of people who buy cars unseen (i am one of them but learning that sellers sometimes suck)....

You definately need to call that bank and probably wait a full week or more to confirm the $ clearing.... some of the fake cashiers checks are so good that it takes a while for the bank to get them back...

have him wire the $.... there is no way to back out of a wire!!!!

When the money is in your account, then you can overnight him one set of keys. Send the other set with the car. Thats the only way i would do it.
