OK guys, what happened that would cause a thread on a current event to be deleted?

I guess it became political so it probably was moved to the dumpster.

Well, I must vent then. As a journalist for half my life, I find it appalling that political discussions cannot be discussed in a forum otherwise riddled with "fat chick fashion show" and "only post when you're drunk" threads. I guess discussions that are passionate and force others to actually think while risking (eeegads!) offending those who disagree have no place here. Only the censored word is dangerous. I shouldn't have to visit another automobile "off topic" forum to discuss an impending war with another nation. I guess I'll just turn on Crossfire and leave the "Why you shouldn't play STRIP TWISTER" thread fun to the others. Before anyone thinks I didn't enjoy reading the above mentioned threads, I did. This is my point. There is a place for all of the above musings and rantings but I guess I need to calibrate my S2ki.com GPS because I thought I was visiting the OFF TOPIC forum? Krazik, you write in your "no more politics" note "We're all here for the car." So in lieu of that, can I expect more "Fat chick fashion show" car threads? For the longest time, I have admired the logic and reasoned choices the moderators have to make on a daily basis but fellas...you're dead wrong with censoring political banter. If it bores others, they'll click on by. For the rest of us (especially paying members), censoring such topics of importance while snickering at the "dickhead" thread (good one Wantone) makes me wonder where do I have to go to "waste my time," as the forum header suggests.

I love a good political discussion and it makes me really sad to think that we cannot talk about politics on this website.

I know we are here to talk about cars, but in the Off Topic forum, banning Politics is just wrong. I understand when it because a flame war to close it. But delete political topics is wrong. The way I learn is through discussion and see how the other side feels. I feel I can learn a lot from people on this board and they can learn something from me.

to people that silence politcal debates.

I see it from both sides of the coin... However I only ask that mods relax on the no politics rule in the coming days, weeks and months since the topic of war is growing stronger. It is the topic of discussion for many, and its too bad we can't talk/share/argue about here.
