What kind of .45 should I get (Part II)?
i just wanna get a gun for the "look" of it.
i like guns' color, weight and texture.
if i actually get one, i'm going to modify it (like pour cement in it. haha) so that it wouldn't actually shoot bullets.

I've been really happy with my USP although I'd like to have the compact frame. The full size frame is a bit too large to conceal. While not a .45, the Glock model 23C (compensated) is worth a look for a carry weapon.
Also, to reply to a few folks above:
Guns don't kill people, Bullets do.
The best thermonuclear device right now (for concealed carry) has to be the Nuke .50, "micro" nuclear .50 cal round. Available from Birdman Weapons Systems http://www.birdman.org/products/Nuke50.htm
Also, whoever that was wanting to fill a handgun with cement...Darwin would approve! Brandish a hangun because you think it looks cool (even a fake) prepare to go to the hospital.

Your logic seems to be "if criminals have guns, I need one too" and my logic is "if criminals have guns, we need to take them away".Cars kill people. True. But is it their design intent or do they have another purpose? Do guns have a purpose other than killing people? I believe not.
So you have guns to fire at a range because it gives you a rush. Why? What prehistoric urges are responsible for that and is it something that we should be comfortable with? This is aside from the small minority who are true sporting shooters. Using phrases like "deadly accuracy" loosely reveals a lot about the true reason people like guns and it's a pretty scary reality. If it wasn't a deadly weapon would you be so fascinated by it? Why don't you fire water pistols? It would be more fun.
The only way this thread is going to get locked is if it gets personal. I haven't attacked any of you and don't intend to. If you do the same we'll be fine. Telling me to lighten up is pretty ironic because I'm not the one getting upset
Keep it civil and the debate is worth having. ElTianti is one who knows how to argue hard without getting personal and knows the difference between philosophical argument and personal attack. I'm surprised he hasn't commented.

I think you need to read the thread subject one more time.Back to the thread, since I've shot over a dozen different pistols in various calibers, I prefer the 1911 style the best. The grips on a Glock are too fat for my taste and prefer a single stack magazine versus a double stack. Kimbers are great and very accurate out of the box and can be had for around $600.
"What we can say with some confidence is that allowing more people to carry guns does not cause an increase in crime. In Florida, where 315,000 permits have been issued, there are only five known instances of violent gun crime by a person with a permit. This makes a permit-holding Floridian the cream of the crop of law-abiding citizens, 840 times less likely to commit a violent firearm crime than a randomly selected Floridian without a permit."
