I like Mutts. I've got two of them, one is Golden Retriever and Australian Sheep dog mix... he looks black, but in the sun his red is really a Deep, dark Red color. Smartest dog in the world... I swear he understands ever word in the English language...

Second is Chow-Chow, Lab, and Pitbull. This is the loyalist dog I've ever had... everywhere I go in the house, he is there. I sit down at my computer, he comes and lays down next to the chair, I go lay in the recliner, he goes and lays down next to it. At dinner time, he knows he cannot come into the kitchen, so he lays right at the doorway, outside of the kitchen.... and if he kinda lays his head inside of the kitchen, I tell him to 'get out' he'll move his head a little so it isn't in the kitchen. He's the most lovable dog I've ever seen. Though, if he don't know ya and yer messin around his house, his deep growl and bark are purdy intimidating.

Love em.

Sondra-
Was your cat full grown when you brought home the first Boxer? While my cats have lived with dogs and puppies before, I don't know if they will welcome a canine after four years of having their litter box unmolested and their naps undisturbed.

Tigger was a year old when I brought Gilligan home. It took him about an hour to figure out that the dog was FUN and to assert himself as "alpha cat." Believe me, your new dog will get the claws a few times and figure out who wears the "pet pants" really quickly!

If you are considering owning a White German Shepherd, you must remember your dog will be devoted to you and your family heart, mind and body. He or she will be willing to give their life for you or your household. Those who acquire a puppy must understand that this is a lifelong commitment to your dog. Your White German Shepherd, if separated from you, will mourn for you, often for the remainder of its life. When you choose a White German Shepherd please do not take your commitment lightly, such selfless love is no small thing

My dogs are pedigree Bitza's

Bitza this, bitza that. Both from the pound.

I got Lucy (on the right) about 5 years ago. She's either a tall Staffordshire Terrier or an American Pit Bull. I can't imagine why anyone abandoned her. She has the most placid temperament and even tries to befriend cats (and has the scars to prove it). I was at a cafe once and a lady asked if her 10 month old baby could pat her. Lucy lay on her back and let this kid maul her. At one stage the child grabbed Lucy by the lip. She just lay there. She's lying at my feet at the moment sending me ESP messages about it being dinner time.

Honey, on the left, is the blonde in my life. She's a bit jealous and doesn't like other dogs much. I fshe gets plenty of exercise and exposure to other dogs off the leash she gets better. Mind you, she's fine with people and children. As much a teddy bear as Lucy. Have no idea whatsoever what breeds she's composed off except I'm sure there's some crocodile in the somewhere .

A couple of other points. Lucy's fur is short, doesn't moult much, and doesn't smell when she's wet (they love swimming in the pool). Honeys does .

Isn't it amazing how dogs (and cats) know they should be gentle with children? Realizing that they are so intuitive makes it much harder to eat them.
