I have a pair of Cole-Haan driving shoes. They are black leather with the knobby sole that extends over the tip of the toe and 3/4 the way up the back of the shoe. They have about 10 lace holes per side so you can really dial in your comfort. The biggest plus of all is from the top they look like old baseball spikes. That is acually why I bought them.

I find the kind of shoes that go on your feet work best.

I am ALWAYS barefoot when I drive the S2000. I feel much better like this because I have a much greater feel for the gas, clutch and brake. If I've ever stalled in my S2000, it's because I had shoes on and I didn't know how far in I was pushing in the clutch.
