I think the hatchback is a good idea. As for the Miata... no respectable man would every drive a Miata . I like the ITR too, but it's front wheel drive.

trust me, you can make quick ass hybrids like that for VERY VERY cheaps. ALL my friends have hybrids and they haven't spent over $1000 and they dust a lot of cars mid-high class sports cars.

Go with the 1985 (or 1986?) Toyota Corolla GTS.

It's a RWD car with DOHC!!!

I've seen some quick ones which handle very well.

You can probably buy one now for less than a grand (actually, I have no idea, it's a very bad estimate)
