What mobile service to you use? And what are the pros/cons?
Verizon for me, I have been with them under Cellular One/Airtouch/Verizon since 1991 and I would never switch to another company. Check out www.wirelessadvisor.com and you will get all of the info you need. howardforums.com is ok if you can put up with the childishness, flames, and holier than thou attitudes.
I use T-Mobile. They have pretty good coverage here. One of T-Mobile's strengths is that since they use GSM, you can (theoretically) get coverage virtually everywhere in the world (GSM is the standard everywhere except in the U.S. and Japan). I'm not sure if that's important to you though.
Cingular also has GSM phones, by the way, as does AT&T Wireless, though the consensus is to stay as far as possible away from AT&T.

The only problem with GSM is coverage pretty much sucks once you get outside of a major city. If you travel to large cities and fly all the time then you should be fine, but if you spend a lot of time outside of major metropolitan areas, stay far away from GSM.
For an example, HERE is T-Mobiles national coverage (the red area, the pink is roaming, the tan is no coverage at all).
To compare HERE is Verizons home coverage area (view the Americas choice map).
There are a few areas that you are roaming with Verizon but the coverage blows just about everyone away. Verizon is a little more expensive than the other brands out there, but you have to ask yourself if you would rather pay $10 more per month for a phone that is going to work when and where you need it or save a couple of bucks and have a phone that has no service when you need it most. Like broken down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere at 3 A.M.

wow, steve c, took you a while to show up.. i was starting to get worried that you wouldn't show up.
Who cares how much licenses a company holds, it is how many they actually can afford to light up. If that is true that Sprint is the national leader in coverage... i guess all those people who complain about sprint must be smoking bad crack huh...

The numbers are finally in:

Cingular --> gain of 554,000 customers, churn 2.7%
Sprint --> gain of 414,000 customers, churn 2.9%
Verizon --> gain of 1,400,000 customers, churn of 1.6%
Wahoo!!!
