Those churn numbers are not accurate. Not that I care to go over the issue again, but there is no standard for defining them. How do I know? First hand experience.

Another example as to why we can never trust sales people ... J/K I'm sure those statistics are on display all over your office walls -- just as different ones are on the sales walls of AT&T, T-Mobile ... etc.

wow, steve c, took you a while to show up
P.S. If you notice I posted third in this thread. While I don't care to get into the opinion side of things, I will throw in some facts and corrections now and then. As I said earlier, every carrier has areas with poor and good service.

i am sure the numbers that get reported at the quarterly statements have to be true.
Granted, i believe Sprint's numbers should have been higher with all the resellers. somewhere close to 900K total adds.

I was referring to your (steve c) statement about Sprint.

Fine, lets not look at Churn levels, lets stay with activation numbers.

Activation numbers are not consistent either. What determines an activation, versus a reactivation and/or a deactivation are not regulated formulas.

To add more confusion, carriers with both pre and post pay systems may or may not count subscribers moving from one system to the other.

At some point the government is going to get involved, but so far they have shown no intrest.

Had to laugh when I found ot that the mobiles in the U.S. charge you for recieving calls as well as making them! Nobody would stand for that in the UK, you can recieve as many calls as you want and it's the person calling that gets charged a bit more, hate to think what my mobile bill would be like if I was stateside.
