Wow, A Croatian in GA. That must be pretty rare.
I was also born in Zadar, Croatia. My parents were both from the island of Dugi Otok. We came here when I was 5 years old so I am fairly americanized.
I came across this trivia recently.
It turns out that verrazano and his fleets originally named the area that is now known as the New England, New Dalmatia.
And Long Island in NY he named isla longa after the place in Croatia known as Dugi Otok. The literal translation is long island.
So it is Ironic that my parents moved from the original Long Island in Croatia to the new one in NY.

Croatians are pretty rare in georgia, but there is a Croatian picnic twice a year where a few hundred get together. Of course I know NY has Croatian clubs and all so that doesn't compare.
My parents use to live in Astoria back in the 60's and I still have some family around Bayside. Mind me asking your last name?

Brown. I mean Indian, the Eastern kind.
Born in the US though, so no funny accent...unless I want to
