What should I do?!
I am in the market for a new car.
Here's the background:
I have a 4Runner, which in Chicago, is the PERFECT winter car. I have just taken a project with a client that is about 28 miles away and I'll be going there pretty much full time, communte sucks goats, but hey, it's a living. So, I thought I would get a third car, like a Type R or a nice Prelude or something like that, something fun, fairly economical, blah blah blah.
Well, on the way home from a crazy time for the 4th this week, I was talking to some friends and they said that I should sell the 4Runner ( ...
... ) and buy something that can do it ALL. They suggested an A4 wagon, since it has the capacity (more or less) of a 4Runner, it's sports, Quattro, etc...
So, enter the new scenario...my orignal plan is shot. I'm questioning what to do and therefore looking for advice.
Should I get a third car, which isn't that big of a deal, actually. Or should I sell the truck and get an even NICER fun fast (relatively) all purpose car that gets better mileage than the truck?!?
What would you do? And what cars would you suggest that I get to be this car that can do it all?!

Thanks!

I am still up in the air about the ITR! Now that I am used to it, it does take the big corners (35mph+) at the same speeds as the s2000, but it is noisy as hell!!!! (i have a greddy exhaust which may add a small amount, but the engine itself is where most of the noise comes from).
Good gas mileage, but at 80-90mph you are running damn close to 5,000rpm! NOISE, NOISE, NOISE (in your best Grinch voice)
WRX would be cool! why not drive the S2000?????

Since you already have your "fun" car, I'd go with an AWD or FWD wagon... Possibilities include:
Audi A6 (AWD)
Audi A4/S4 (AWD)
BMW 325xi (AWD)
Saab 9-5 (FWD)
Volvo V70 XC (AWD)
Subura WRX (AWD)
Subura Legacy (AWD)
Obviously there are others, and this list varies from about $22k up to over 40k, so I guess it depends on where you prioritize cost (minor from the sounds of it), mileage (somewhat important, all these would be an upgrade from your LC), and fun (the big question mark).

Greg, 28 miles of pure fun! I guess I don't get this save the car don't drive it to much mentality. Mine is used as a daily driver all year long. In your case I understand the winter problems but I'd say the 4 Runner is ideal for this isn't it? Especially, knowing that your winters get pretty bad at times. Gas milage isn't that bad is it? When I owned mine it got at least 22mpg. I don't know but considering the insurance, and the other added costs, would it really be more advantageous? Sounds like you got the Fun and the Snow covered the way you are. IMHO
