Thumbs up What to take OTC to stay awake....

I am going on a long trip, and I need something to keep me awake while driving. I can't drink coffee too much coffee. Anyone know what I should take over-the-counter to stay awake? Thanks.

This is a little known fact - Eating an apple in the morning wakes you up more than coffee, plus you won't be pulling over to pee every 10 minutes like you would with coffee

Here's what I use:

I never drink coffee, so it's either XS or Diet Coke for me.

Apple? Are you sure man? this is a long trip coast to coast(northeast to southwest), so I don't want to pee every now and then by drinking coffee ....that's why I need something else.

I used to take Vivarin back in my college days some 10+years ago and they don't have it anymore. any pharmacists in here probably know.

Find any OTC diet pill with Ephedra. Your body metabolizes it into amphetamine. Thats why people who take this junk have a racing heart condition, high blood pressure, and a reduced appetite.

Ephedra was banned. It was recently overturned by the courts but the companies manufacturing it are hesitant to bring it back to the market because they're afraid of being sued.

FDA has revised ruling in that they now allow Ephedra as long as the max dosage per cap is 10mg or less.
