What Is Worse: Obesity or Smoking?

I just watched Super Size Me again and at the beginning, an interesting statement was raised.
Deaths arising from obesity will overtake deaths arising from smoking as the number one preventable death the way things are progressing. By the year 2010, one in three American children will be over weight.

I don't necessarily agree that people are putting on weight because they are giving up smoking. Not everyone who is overweight was originally a smoker.

I just find it interesting how it is now socially acceptable in society for a person to openly make a comment to a smoker (even a stranger) about how disgusting smoking is, hiding their cigarettes, refusing to come in contact with them while they are lighting up, telling them that what they're doing will kill them, how stupid they are, etc etc.
On the other hand, you don't see as many people telling an overweight person who is shoveling a greasy hamburger and salty fries into his or her mouth to stop eating because of how overweight they are, telling them that they will have a heart attack, blocking their arteries ala Bill Clinton, and hiding their food.
Just something I've been thinking about.

).I put acceptable in quotation marks because while a lot of people feel that its their right to shoot off at people, but if done in the wrong way they'd still get a smack in the mouth from many smokers. If I were a smoker standing outside a building on a break and some nosey parker came up to me and told me what a disgusting habit it was I don't think that I'd take it well.
Yellow, I don't know how you can say that smoking can be attractive sometimes! If I see a nice looking girl walking down the street and my eyes follow her, the minute she lights up I turn away in disgust. I never used to be that way when I smoked but now it really turns me off.
In contrasting which is better, I was offering my opinion that a person that smokes can still be reasonably attractive physically, meaning they can still be fit, or good looking. To put it to an extreme example, Jessica Alba will still be hot to an extent whether she smokes or not.
Unless you like fat people, the general consensus is that "thin is in" and fat people are almost always unattractive physically.
I did not mean smoking is attractive. I DO NOT go to places and see a girl smoking and think to myself, "Oh my god the way she smokes is so hot."
With your example, her actions might deter you being attracted to her, but her physical appearance before she smokes and when she lights up the cigarette or blunt is the same.
