Yes..there has been a lot of talk about the Turbo on the new CRV. Is this confirmed, or is it just rumour at the moment? Anyone know for sure?

Get a Subaru! I would lean more towards the Outback than just the Legacy, but you know your needs better than I. The Outback is what I have direct experience with. My mother has owned two. The ability to go through snow is just plain amazing, even with the standard All-Season tires. All I will say is Mom is not big on basic maintenance and the Scooby has never let her down.
The 2.5 is a great powerplant, it is after all not a racecar. I have yet to drive the 6-cyl boxer but I'm not sure the little extra power is worth the large amount of extra cash. When I borrow the Outback and have it loaded with people and stuff, I have never felt like I was driving a slug, she has the 5-speed.

We just recently bought a Forrester S+, and I can honestly say that I've been very happy with it's performance. It's surprisingly fun to dry (relatively speaking). The interior fit and finish isn't quite as good as I think it should be, but that seems to be the case for most manufacturer's these days. Overall, I'm very pleased with the vehicle.

I'm sure the same feelings would apply to another Subaru model too.

My daily driver is the S2K, however my car for bad days in winter is a 94' Legacy with 228k miles on it. These cars last forever. It was my mothers car for several years. Then it survived my sisters 2 first driving years. Now I have it as my backup vehicle. It's obviously near its last leg, but still runs strong. A great hauler, or for the snow, I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

Urmil,

Sorry to see that you're going to let the Lude go. I always justify keeping my Prelude around for the lower insuance it gets me on the S2K. Getting a multi-car discount helps out a lot. I only hadto pay about $400/year more to cover the S2K.

Mark,

I'm sorry to let the Lude go as well, but alas, it's time for me to "grow up" and let go of my toy that is just so impractical...

I will still enjow a mulit car discount, because I think that I will be buying a Subaru 2.5 Legacy GT wagon..... I should get more of a discount because they don't see that as a sporty car, where as with the Lude they see it as a sports coupe and I inusred it at stated value ($30K).

Another thing to save me money now is that I recently hired on with Allstate, so as an employee, I will be enjoying more of a discount.

My wife's current car is an Outback and we really like it. The AWD is truly amazing. It is really seamless. My only thought is that the interior is fairly plain since we went with the base model, but it seems solid. She was involved in an accident last spring and the passenger compartment was undamaged. We are believers.
