I think I've lost more than I've found.

At my last job, I found a wallet in the men's room with about 150 or 200 bucks in it. It also had a AMEX credit card and a family picture. I called up AMEX to let them know I found the wallet and maybe they can contact the owner to come and retreive it. I returned the wallet - with the cash - to our building security. The part that intrigued me was the family picture - the picture was torn in half, separating two people, and taped back together with scotch tape.

No Thank You, geez that's pretty sad! Obviously they were rich, so $6000 was probably nothing to them. $6000 is a lot for a tax refund anyways.

great posts everyone!
The address and the home weren't anything that I would consider rich by any means, looked more to me like they really needed that money. Why it was so much I will never know.

That situation just seems funny. Collecting for the poor, while finding a lot of money in the process.

Good posts everyone

Maybe a hundred bucks myself, but I'll tell my dad's story.

When he was a little kid growing up in Macedonia, he found about 300 bucks USD near one of the mountains. Back then, they were so poor that they couldn't afford shoes, and 10 bucks would have been able to feed them for months.

The funny thing is, he had never seen real money before, so he wasn't sure what the deal was, and for some reason, that even he can't explain, he only took half of it back with him. When he showed my grandma and got the skinny he ran back to get the rest but it was gone.

It made thier year, kind like finding 50k now adays sitting in your driveway.

A couple of years ago, while at a bar to see some local band, I went up to the bar and ordered a drink. I look down and I see a folded $20 bill. I quickly put my foot on top of it so on one sees it to try to claim it.

After I get my drink and change, I bend down to subtly pick up the folded bill. I go to the mens room so I can unfold it and put it in my wallet and as I unfold it, I found out is wasn't one but FOUR $20 bills! That put a smile on my face for the rest of the night.

I love it when people use money clips or fold their money into a wad and put it in their pocket instead of using a wallet. These are the people who want to show everyone else how much money they have on them but that makes it sooooo easy for money to fall on the floor.

Fuggin' dumbasses.

One day I was late for a meeting and needed to get $5 of gas in the S2000 - this was when $5 bought you more than a gallon of gas.

I pulled into the gas station, hopped out of the car, and there on the pavement in front of me was a $5 bill.

Talk about serendipity!
