They get their money in all sorts of different ways, just like anyone else - white collar jobs, blue collar jobs, personal businesses, parents, scams, sponsorships, debt, and so on. There isn't one single source of funding for those cars.

Some might sell drugs, but just because a young person spends a lot of money on his car doesn't mean he sells drugs. In any case, your typical white collar worker makes more money than your typical drug dealer. The image of the filthy rich drug dealer portrayed by the media does not apply unless you are a big time dealer of certain drugs.

Maybe they have some nice sponsers that help them out or they just save up alot.

 

I think that all of the "occupations" stated in the above posts are reasonable answers. Personally speaking, I have friends who were able to buy some pretty nice cars (we're all in our mid-20's).

In that group, one guy got an M3 AND an H2 because his dad paid for them. I can't fault him for that. . . my dad bought me a 1986 Pontiac Grand Am for $2000 when I was 17.

Another guy bought a new Mustang GT conv. with cash. . . because he works a union job (2x's what I make!), lives at home (no rent), and has been working 70 hours/week since he was 18 (no school debt).

Finally, another guy just bought an SL500 ( ). He got into the mortgage business at the right time, and now owns a mortgage company with a few other friends. He also spends money faster than he eans it. . . ever see a 26 year old pull in $35k after taxes every month and blow it all before the 31st of that same month??? Its insane. I don't even want to know what he plans on doing after the bubble bursts.

Me, I work a decent job, saved like crazy to put a decent down payment on my S, and financed the rest (will never get upsidedown at this point).

Anyway the point is that people get their money from an infinite number of sources. I usually just use other people's good fortune as motivation to work harder. The greatest thing about this country is that you can bust your ass to make money, get it all from your parents, or go ear deep into debt. At the end of the day, whatever makes you happy works (ok, I don't condone dealing drugs or stealing, but you get the point).

 

Alot of the people in there are actually the shops cars. It's easy when you can put all that money into your car and get it all back at the end of the year from taxes as a write off. Or you can do what I did....put it all on Credit Cards and owe forever!!! I'm still paying for my MR2 that I sold in 2k3!

 

I just save. Take a chunk of each paycheck.
Got no girlfriend, so money goes to the car, and makes me happy!
Done deal!
