stick to whatever it is that you do.
cuz you obviously don't know anything about fashion.

cuz you obviously don't know anything about fashion.

I don't need to prove my fashion sense to anyone. The OP is trying to build a decent starting wardrobe for what it seems is the corporate life. Obviously you don't know anything about moving up in the real world if you're too caught up in high end fashion and this years accessories...
Also if I didn't have any fashion sense why would I have been offered a job to be a fashion buyer for Neiman Marcus(I turned it down because I had better and bigger things to do). Its so immature to judge people over the internet. But I guess people are immature on and off the net.
I can really understand why Xviper just had enough.
Clawhammer, if you're ever going to head to the Chicago area, I'd be more than happy to help you out with any advice you'd need etc.. or places to shop. Just give me PM. I'd rather not post here any longer. Good luck with the wardrobe search and congrats with the Job. Maybe some people can stick to the original purpose of this thread.

werd.
once you buy your first prada, canali or etro suit, you'll think that gap is the space between your teeth.
style is one of those things that you either have or you don't....there's no in-between.

Today I picked up a Ralph Lauren shirt for $30, and 2 pairs of Brooks Brothers shirts for $30 a piece. I also got some Bostonian shoes. I think I got some pretty decent deals. I think that's all the shopping I'll do until April

you could leave too...just a thought.
There's a lot of good advice in this thread.
However, where I work I could wear jeans and a button up if I wanted, so I don't really have to have a week's worth of suits.
In any case the most important thing for me is fit.
Goodwill, Target, Express and H&M, fit me out of the box well and are pretty inexpensive.
Nordstrom Rack is pretty inexpensive but I'd have to go to a tailor for their clothes to fit me right.
99% of people will think you look nice and even "stylish" without you having to spend an arm and a leg.
Sure you should probably have one good well made expensive suit in your wardrobe, but you can wait for that.
I'd love to have $1000 suits that feel good, last, and look good, but it's not a necessity.
