Where do you shop for clothes?

Lots of crap to dig through at a marshalls or a Maxx, but you will always find one or two really good shirts for CHEAP if you spend the time looking.
Found two top notch dress shirts I would have paid $50 each at another store, one was $12 the other $15.

What kind of jacket/sportcoat do you wear with light pants and a black shirt, both striped?
Anyways, I went to TJ MAXX tonight and bought an $80 Kenneth Cole shirt for $15 and a $65 pair of Perris Ellis slack for $20.

Also since you're in Michigan, if you're not too far away from Chicago, you should just drive over and hit all the places mentioned above. Most of them are located around one another. There is one section in the northshore with (Nordstrom's Rack, Loehmanns, and Marshall's side by side). And in the woodfield area(if you're familiar) also has a Nordstrom's Rack, Marshalls, and Off saks 5th all next to eachother.
Try a search on their websites to see if anything is closer to you.
Also why get sport coats when you can get suits for $150. A suit can be worn so many ways. Business casual without the jacket, formal with the jacket, after work with the jacket and some nice jeans, etc... Grant it in a business casual environment you will probably not need many suitcoats or jackets to begin with. Just load up on khakis, chinos, dress slacks etc.. and plenty of shirts and/or sweaters(if they allow that, mine does).

Dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

I would suggest investing a little more money in better quality clothes. If you buy right they will last three times as long and you will end up saving money in the end.

This is the best advice. It's better to have a handful of good quality slacks and dress shirts than a closetful of crap that looks worn out the third time you wash it or take it to the cleaners. Believe me - I learned the hard way and so do most other people.
also, what you guys are forgetting is that the outlets have outdated stuff....sure a boss suit is only 300-400...but it was from 2 seasons ago.
I live in Alabama, thus there isn't a large variety of high end stores.
I shop at Parisian and Dilliards. I have also become brand exclusive. Most of my clothing is Polo. I have some Lacoste, Express, and Gap also. Dress pants are Gap usually and dress shirts are from Parisian or Dilliards. My shoes are Sperry, Cole Haan, and Rockport.
22 years old, btw. I have fun with the way I dress while always remaining clean, and somewhat understated. I read a good quote about mens fashion where it pointed out that in every man's outfit he is usually missing just one extra item to take it to the next level, and to find that item for every outfit, and use it. Better to be overdressed than under. If I'm wearing one of the new Polo polo's that have the large sigil on them, there is no shame in wearing a 1/4 zip up solid sweater over top of the shirt with artesian pants, thus hiding the sigil. Business casual, but not your typical 'business casual'. Have fun with your wardrobe.
