well...green beret is what you wear with your uniform when you are not in the field.
You have to be Speical Forces to have right to wear Green beret.

they are all good men and yes we have SF everywhere in the world.
pray that your brother is doing well.

Young your a ranger right? My bro was a Ranger before SF, and most of his team were also. I belive hes a Staff Sergeant E-6? Hes also a Medic in his teambut also cross trained to do other duties in case a team member goes down in battle. You got any plans joining up the Special Forces? If I were in the military I would really be interested in Delta Force, those guys are mysterious....

hehe...most people dont know about military and the special operation.
your brother is Sfaff sergeant if he is E-6.

let me explain to everyone so that you guys get better understanding.

Special operators are:
Rangers
Special Forces~green beret
Delta Force
Navy Seals
Air Force para rescuer
Marine Recon

Delta force and special forces are not same btw.
also special forces dont have to be rangers.

ok...these units are all over ther world. when something goes down...those above will be called on to do the job, until Delta Force get there.

who is most elite??? Deltas are.

people think Navy Seals are the most elite since that is what they see in the movies.

when you become a Delta...people dont know you are one. there is no big flashy insignia saying you are delta. these people dont care about big metals saying that they are delta...they only care about the experience and jobs they get to do.

dont get me wrong...i know all the training you must have to do for all above and it is ALL tough and hard.

as for me...i dont know which route i want to go...u have to understand that i'm an officer so its little different. there is interview for me in 2 weeks with Delta. who knows...i might go that route.

I just read a book by Eric Haney about Delta Force. He was a ranger before that and then a delta operator. All I can say is that Delta is the most elite, hardcore group of people I've ever heard about. Truly the best of the best. And very secretive as well (from what I read all record of them being in military removed) I'm sure there is ton of stuff going on now we have no clue about (except maybe you YoungR ) Hey Young R doesn't Delta draw upon all branches of the military for its members (seals, force recon, rangers, etc)?

Lots of good stuff on Delta in the book Blackhawk Down. GREAT book, the movie was good but just does not have the time to go into detail that a book does. Those guys come off as totally fearless in the book.

Yeh I do remember reading a book awhile back by aretired army Colonel, who was doing alot of top secret research. One of his spots were Roswell New Mexico, Area 51. He mentioned in his book that there was a large contigent of Delta Force at the secret military installation observing and guarding "UFO" type objects and creatures. They even confronted one of them and lost quite a few members supposedly. Crazy stuff, but a good story. Who knows. They def do top top secret work though.
