I have I have.
basically, i won a bid for a stock S2K lip. Wait 2 weeks didnt come. Called the ba$tard and he said he couldnt get it anymore (he worked at a Honda Parts Dpt.). Said he would send me a check. Get the check back for $316.00. 5 days later the bank issues a statement saying that the check had bounced. I call that ba$tard at Honda parts and a fellow co-worker said he no longer works there.

Oh goodie
$316.00 gone Buh bye!

Boy my grammar is bad
It should read
WHO HAS GOTTEN RIPPED OFF FROM EBAY

You should be covered under ebays fraud protection for up to $200.

Ebay can lick my ba!!s i hate that company with a passion!!!
They are the most ignorant people on earth. Fraud protection would take me like 6 years to get $200 and 30 emails later. Or there will be the fine line details that would exclude my transaction from qualifying under Fraud protection. Anyone out there want to help me shut down ebay. They Ruin the Retail market for ANYTHING Tangible!!
Sorry if any S2K onwers work for Ebay. Your company really suckZ!!!

I have used EBAY with great success. I sold my car on EBAY, a transaction doesn't get much bigger than that. As with most things in this world, if there is a way to screw people someone will do it. I do not think it is EBAY's fault that you got screwed. They are providing a forum in which people conduct transactions with one another. If you have doubts use an escrow service or simply don't bid. The tools are there for people if they choose to use them. Sorry about your loss but EBAY is not responsible. No I do not work for them.

I've just won the bidding for a nav system from a shop in Germany. It's about $US1000. My intention is to pay by CC. Anyone know what sort of protection I have from ebay or my CC company (VISA)?

Ebay has the tools in place, but basically you are at the mercy of a stranger. I try to keep my transactions small................although I bought my BMW off Ebay and love it! Always check their feedback and try to use members that have been on ebay for a year or more. All the info is available to members..............but there are people who lurk in the shadows

if its a store then it might be allright.
but you might want to call your cc company and check with them.
