The Projector can display High Def but requires an external box. I just prefer to get a all inclusive projector that can display High Definition without an external box. Basically I like to upgrade this projector to a DLP with 1080i built in. I also have an extra bulb that was $560.00 to adress any obsolescence issue with the projector. Current possible resolution on Projector is 1024x768 which is adequate for 720p HD.
I am keeping the motorized screen. Not a lot of space is required for this other than a blank wall or a clean king/queen white linen. The projector is only 6/7lbs. Can do PIP, widescreen 16x9, DLP single chipset so you know the pictures is bright and pixel free. Desktop mounted or ceiling/wall mounted.

Since I am in the business, I am not a BIG fan of rear project due to it's view angle and such other issues. Personal speaking, Direct View CRT is the best. But they are freaken heavy. (200+ lbs) for 34". Plasma or LCD will be the furture, but for it to mature I would say a few more years. They need to work on the resolution and brightness......

I can't wait until everyone owns one in their home.

hehe... couldn't justify the price/performance/longetivity on a plasma purchase just yet. the living room has a Toshiba 57hx81 that to me looks great - especially with the progressive scan dvd player. as long as I have the light under control in the room it's perfect.

not so great in the daytime. the Sampo is nearly 5k for a 43?!? Ouch!

still want that 2,000 35 plasma for the bedroom. that's my "buy" point. I saw one site with the Apple Cinema 22 for 2,000. still more than I can come up with at the moment...

Last Dec, we settled on a Mits 60" Diamond, which we are very happy with. HDTV via OTA and DirecTV with the Toshiba STB. DefTech Speakers for surround sound.

I know a few that are waiting for Plasma $$$ to come down, and there was a recent Wall Strret article that stated they are dropping pretty quickly.

Yeah, I read that same article. Just to let you all know we are expecting 2999.00 Q1 of next year....Daewoo is selling at $2999.00 at Costco.com and Sampo is there at 3499.00. Price is moving fast and I think 3k is the sweet spot for this product. I would see 2k by next Christmas tho. We already heard rumors.
