Default why do football players try to cheat?

the ball skips into their hands and they pretend like they caught it..... or the guy makes a great catch and the other team jumps up and down waving theirs arms saying he didn't get it.....

I played a lot of tennis... i knew every single time I let the ball bounce 2 times and I never tried to cheat about it........

Where would the pride be in cheating to win a football game? what a bunch of dicks!

It's their job. The better they are at it the more they make.

I play tennis with the school and I can say roughly 50% of players cheat.

there are some schools we have played that their entirely team cheats rather overtly (making blatant miscalls)

worst part is there are no refs and coaches etc cant make calls so there isnt much you can do...well I did spike the ball into a guys balls once...but you dont get that oppurtunity too much

"Try" is the keyword because professional referees usually get the call right 95% of the time, especially with the use of the challenge..

I know when I played ball I'd go in the game with best intentions of playing "clean" but sometimes imotion or desperation gets the best of you.

You guys gotta remember that this is their job, when i used to play street hockey as a kid i wouldn't have thought of cheating. But these guys get paid based on how they perform. You can't really compare it to your tennis club or soccer or any recrational activity.

who cares if it is their job.... integrity should mean something......

I always wondered why a guy wouldn't just say.... "no I didn't catch that" instead of claiming that he did..... there should be a 15 yard penalty for trying to cheat.

I don't recall that many bad calls in tennis... I played for 4 years in High school...... "when in doubt, call it out".

These are grown men I am talking about......they are assholes if they attempt to cheat.... ya... we cheated our way to a win.

OK Scot, you should also ask them to

1. not use steroids or other banned substances to enhance their performance.
2. not use recreational drugs
3. stay faithful to their wives.
4. don't break the laws (I don't mean minor ones like speeding)

Who cares what they do? They are there for their athletic ability, not their brains or sense or moral.
